24 X 24 A-Frame Cabin Plan

"With some knowledge of carpentry and the ability to use ordinary hand tools, three or four men should have no serious problem building this cabin."

Cooperative Farm Building Plan Exchange Plan No. 6003

October 1968 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE The A-frame cabin, a very popular type of recreational second home across the United States, was built by many people in mountainous areas on the coast of Maine in Florida, and across the country. Like traditional cabins, this A-cabin offers enough living space for a family of four or five. The first floor of this 24 by 24 foot cabin contains a living-dining room, a compact kitchen, a bathroom with shower and adequate storage space. A ship's ladder staircase leads to the second floor, and a skylight-like window extension in the roof adds light and ventilation to this area. With some knowledge of carpentry and the ability to use common hand tools, three or four men should have no serious problems building this cabin.

Home Tiny House 24’X8’6″

On sunny days this system is enough to run an electric fridge, charge our 3 laptops, power our LED TV, run our LED lights, power our small fan for our compost toilet, charge our toothbrushes and do run a VitaMix and other kitchens. Appliances. We use our solar system on a sunny day or our generator to power the well pump, which sends water about 75 vertical feet up a hill above the house where it fills an above ground storage tank of 1 500 gallons. We live in the mountains and we don't have neighbors who can see into our house so curtains aren't necessary; however, one could easily add curtains to the house for more privacy. Finally, you can join the efforts of others in the tiny home community to help change building codes and zoning ordinances in your area. Although in an ideal world, no one would have to obtain financing for their tiny house, sometimes it is a necessity to make the dream come true. Because tiny houses are becoming more and more popular across the country (and the world), lending institutions are starting to pay attention to them. The emphasis in the name "hOMe" is on "OM", which is a mystical syllable and often used as a mantra to achieve states of inner peace and calm. Because going tiny was synonymous with committing to our inner joy and peace of mind, the name “hOMe” was born. If you want to have a small mobile home, it may be more difficult; however, anything is possible and many are successful with this approach. Estimated weight for the 24′ version of hOMe is approximately 15,000# (including trailer), although this varies by region and construction materials used.
